I just got my lumbar pad. Great product, well made. I got it because the frame hits my butt in some circumstances with the new thinner belt. I need to dial in the filling but it does what I need it do do, and seems to do it well.
Yet, strictly speaking I'd rather not use it (standard floating belt works well for me), and just looking at the ingenious way I can put or take out the padding makes me wonder why isn't the belt designed so one could add or replace the padding. While the new belt is an improvement in my opinion (softer and I like the greater adjustment), being able to add some foam would have solved my problem without needing the pad. I know, some people would get grime and stuff in there, but I'm a grown up and I could take care of a belt where I could change the padding. I'm leaving this idea to SO...
