Little Bug Out nest and Liner

Little Bug Out nest and Liner

Postby Adrian V » Mon Mar 27, 2017 9:35 pm

First post, so bear with me ;) Does the Cougar nest fit inside the LBO base? I'm thinking of buying the base and vestibule and would like to sleep in the base end and store my motorbike gear in the vestibule end.

I'm a bit concerned that if I sleep in the base ,condensation may be an issue, can you get a liner for the LBO?

I live in Oz and want to use the LBO/vestibule for desert trips. The temperature variation from day to night can cause significant condensation.

Cheers,

Adrian

No liner is available but the nest provides most of the function of a liner.

The cougar will fit the LBO

Thanks Kevin. Do you offer the lil bug out in olive green? Best tipi type design I've seen. Any chance of a nest with a solid back and a higher bath tub floor? Should I be ringing you at this point?
Cheers,
Adrian

Hi Adrian . Only brown because of all the add on pieces . Maybe you can call and get better luck than me . Regarding the nest , it does have a bathtub floor but it is mesh all around ... sorry . A higher bathtub would rob from the floor space ... as there is only so much fabric width. You can certainly call to place an order ... or even try to get a different color but I wouldn't hold my breath . That being said , even if the answer is no it is valuable to call and ask .. as it gives a formal request for it outside of Kevin said we should do "x" . While I have a lot of sway , it goes a long ways to have requests and data points

Welcome [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
You can raise the lbo from the groundto help fight condensation...but in the Desert...not cool with snakes or i dont know what you got there,i am from Qc,Canada,no desert and no dangerous snakes just bears lol...i dont know what i prefer a bear or a venomous snake??

You can also have a "air trap" on the top where are the 2 zippers.

Hi Folks,

Well I put in a few requests, but it's no go I'm afraid.... That said I'm still gong to buy one though, once I can work out when the updated tarp, for the more refined base/tarp/3 piece vestibule combination is available. Still the best small tipi/tarp option out there IMHO.

Cheers,

Adrian

I also just put in a request for a liner...no luck there. But like you said, that doesn't detract any at all from the awesomeness that is there :)

I think it would be nice if it didn't present a production issue.

For the Cimarron the nest is nice...still plenty of other space inside. But with the LBO, as a solo shelter, it's a good bit more weight to carry the nest, and also more work between needing the Prussik, some extra stakes probably etc. And while the liner does take up some space, I do think Dave C is onto somethign that you lose that space anyway trying to stay away from the condensation.
