It is going well and mostly done but we are finalizing some stuff. We expect it to be available by March. It can be used with or without a belt or stays. We are also waiting for final stay samples. The stays are the same but better than most traditional stays IMO. There have been some testing shots on Dave's personal Instagram account , but nothing with really any detail. I would expect it to carry well to 25 -30 lbs.

Thanks

Yeah, besides teasing us all with shots of how awesome his job is, Dave throws in a quick look or comment on this pack every now and then on Instagram. It's looking pretty rugged.

Will it have all the standard fabric options available?

I took the current proto as my carry-on flying GJ to Baltimore and back last week, and even stuffed full it (barely) fits in the overhead bin of smaller commuter jets. Even in the largest size we plan to make length shouldn't be an issue if it is rolled down.

Features/attributes more or less set in stone at this point are:

~35 liter size
roll top
adaptable/removable compression (you'll be able to carry skis and ice gear or run it totally slick)
useable frameless, with stays and belt, or any permutation thereof
~2.5 pounds all up

We'll probably do two fabrics, max. Maybe just one.

Sounds like a total winner. I was using my Umlindi this past weekend and well, while it's nice, there's a lot I'm not crazy about on it, and I'm thinking this will be the ticket.

REally like the idea of the removable compression.

And while we still have a chance to weigh it, please do it in the Granite X51...that stuff is the best. Plus if this is going to see EDC carry you want it as durable as possible right? :)
