I just ordered a 4 man w/ stove combo, worse than a kid a Christmas waiting for it to arrive.

Silvertip arrived today, so had to pitch it and check it out.

Overall impression, another home-run from Seek Outside. I had a BT2, and the Silvertip definitely feels roomier inside for me, at 6'3".

I added some 550-cord extensions to the loops, maybe 7" extension or so. For a pole I took the CF pole from the 6-man, and left the center two pieces out. Worked fine. Extending the pole to about 66", and tilting off center really opened up the middle of the tent.

I'll try the SXL stove in there, but need a shorter pipe. I have a 9' pipe for the 6-man, I'm thinking a 6' pipe should be about right for this tent.

Here are some dimensions as I pitched it, off the ground a bit:

Pole height: 64"
Distance across the flats/zipper to zipper: 9 ft
Distance tip to tip: 10 ft
Flats on perimeter: 5ft
"center" rectangle of interior, 5'x9'

Another thought,

I put this up in 20-25 mph breeze. Very easy. Six stakes at the tips held it very well. I put in all 12 stakes mainly to get the extensions sorted out.

I am small but a picture with you(inside) and your stove will give me(us) a good size reference.

I like the brown just as much.

My decision to go with the green was that green is not the color of any hunted game animals. I think green might be a bit safer during hunting season.

I'll get some more pics up before too long.

One thing I recently noticed with the Silvertip, that is a change from the BT-2, is the perimeter stake loops are only on the outboard side, none on the inboard side.

I generally use the outboard loops anyway, but the inboard loops might have some advantage if one intends to cover the sodcloth with snow or dirt/duff.

This isn't a complaint, I just hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else in the differences from the BT-2.
