You talking about thru hiking GSMNP on the AT? I've been contemplating a NC trip on the AT from Clingman's dome to Fontana Dam. That could be a long weekend trip.
As far as Damascus, I haven't really thought about that. We took our daughter last year for the first time and rode the Creeper. Do you have dates for this year's trail days?
Where are you in TN?

I'd be up for CD to Fontana. We'd get Thunderhead and Rocky Top. The north end of the park is supposed to be spectacular as well.

Damascus will be May 17-19 this year.

Well I just pulled the trigger on a 4800 & base talon. Couldn't decided if I need the lid or not. May order a blaze orange talon for hunting season. May be an 1800 day talon in my future, but remains to be seen just what other, if any, features I want until I use it. I'm looking forward to getting it! HURRY!

A more comprehensive overview

When will one be able order the pack as shown in the video with the ultralight frame?

One other thing I am thinking of doing is to attach two straps on the frame itself next to the edges of the load shelf. The reason for this is that when I attach my pad or something like it at the bottom of the pack bag, then hook up the shelf, the gear wants to move away from the frame, out from under the shelf and on up toward the back of the pack. Just something to keep a piece of gear near the frame while being carried between the shelf and the pack bag.
Finally, I also put plastic protectors over the wings of the wing nuts as well as on on the threads of the screw that holds the hip belt onto the frame. I thought that eventually those wing nuts would rub a hole in the bag. Anyone having that problem?
