Backpack Discussion

On the larger packbag there are two clips. Compression holds it at the bottom. On the day Talon, it's a single clip and sort of hard to access it in the bottom. Maybe we will here from more hydration users. I'm more of a water bottle guy or sawyer squeeze (which I carry in there often, and personally have not had an issue).

BHA would be excellent , they did have one of our tents at the Denver show. We will be at the Denver BHA gathering in March. I do know there are a couple packs floating around Denver, maybe I can get you in touch. We also offer an excellent return policy and have had very few fit issues. Fit is pretty easy, adjust the harness and hip belt connection you like. As long as you have a pretty normal back profile they work well. You can customize back profile a little, but not a lot. Honestly the biggest issue I have seen from users is they do not realize how close the load rides and how stable it is without much work. Some are used to packs that carry the load back, or belts that slip a bit and feel a need to really tighten it down. With the Paradox, you really don't need to over tighten it much. The belt stays put pretty well, tighten it until it is secure and go.

Yes SHOT was big. To bad we could not get together.

I'm glad I waited a bit on a second bag. The 3900 should be a better fit for my needs than the 4800. I'll definitely pick up a lid. Keep up the good work!

If using both a base talon and the lid pocket, do you need to use one pair of compression straps for the top pocket instead of the talon?

Also, if I may, a question about bear canisters: I use Bearikade cans, either the weekender model or the larger expedition model. How do these fit into the 3900 or 4800 bags? Will the weekender fit horizontally in both? Or is there better way to strap these canisters on outside the pack?

Thanks

Yes you repurpose the center of lower compression straps for the lid. I'm not sure on the bear cans. I have one around I can try and dig up. What are the dimensions of your bear can ?

Ernda, you definitely can get either bear can in the 4800 or 6300 horizontally or vertically. If those cans will fit in a 65L big river dry sack then it should fit in the 3900 as well.

I think you could get the bear in the 6300 :)

Not the greatest photo but an example of lid compression from production sample lid. Slight changes in production lid just in rounding . Older style roll top pack bag
