Condensation and ventilation

If memory serves me correct I remember seeing inside stakeouts on the Cimarron.

Regarding opening the top zipper on a tipi, I took a 1" dowel and cut two pieces about 12" in length. With a jigsaw, I made cuts on each end and plan to put that in the open zipper space with the zipper in the cutouts to hold it in place. Definitely not storm resistant but all the bugs fly out and it gets great airflow if done to both zippers. We'll see how this works in practice. Trying to put them in place on a 12-man may require a step ladder or dropping the pole to access the top.

I am in GA and the condensation can be bad I am considering a liner and looking for feedback are they worth it? I have a 6 man tipi.

You can try more venting first.

-Open the zipper at the top and brace it open
- vent the bottom either by pitching using the inside tie outs, or raising it up a bit via cordage.

If you still have a lot of condensation after that, yes a liner is probably the best option.

You can also reduce moisture coming from the ground by placing a tarp down.

Those tests could tell you if it something that can be managed well or if it requires a liner

Ground moisture can contribute a lot. I've had times when it had been real rainy and set up on real wet ground ... Condensation first day or so was horrible after that not bad . It all depends but trying a couple things can go a long way. A liner does resolve it all pretty much , but it doesn't hurt finding the source and seeing if it can be managed more simply

Thinking of upgrading my seekoutside 4 man with a liner but not sure if it will be tight or have some sag.

About ground clothes...i use a SOL tarp but only where i sleep...cus if i use a big tarp for the entire tipi it will be just a down side to be ''floorless''(my opinion).

It doesn't impact space very much. You can tension it pretty tight, but you do want some air gap.
