Frame extensions on unaweep

So the Unaweep is optimized for the 26 inch frame (meaning 2 inch extensions).... what does that mean when the 4 inch extensions are used, or none at all? Does that change things like the positioning of the shoulder straps? Does the pack material bunch up? Could a unaweep be ordered to specifically work with no extensions or with longer extensions?

It bunches a little at 24 inches but not super bad. It rides higher on the frame at 28 inch. Torso changes with extensions since torso is attached to the bag, and hipbelt to the framing. The Unaweep - Divide will be optimized at 24 and then use the same sort of packbag moving up the frame when used with extensions

It's pretty easy to optimize a current one for 24, just change the location of the hold down point. We did that for a couple customers and I used one like that almost all last summer. To make the bag for a taller frame is more work and involves more thought.

Some people don't care for the pack bag riding up the frame , some people love it as it places the load a bit higher and gives a good place to strap a sleeping pad.

Very cool - I might end up wanting to wait on the Divide pack in that case. When a customer orders something with a modification, like the packbag being modified for different extensions, does that mean no returns? I never buy anything with the intention of just trying it out to return it, but I figured it's good to know. How about a tent with a stove jack sewn in? Thanks!

Mostly yes. It depends on the extent of modification. We try to find solutions for most customers that do not require customization.
