Backcountry Shelter Questions

That is pretty common to have to re-pitch it a bit if environmental conditions change. The BCS , with its geometry, usually requires the back to be staked back a bit further.

The tipis due to their symmetry, tend to only require a pole re-tension since all sides are equal (as long as it is a symmetrical tipi ..some manufacturers make more of an oval)

It's getting real! Just got the tracking info for my BCS. It's going to be a beautiful weekend for an initial pitch and seam seal.

I did the initial pitch of my BCS. I struggled a little bit since there wasn't a video made like a lot of the other tents. My initial thoughts are positive. I recorded a video for my new Youtube hobby...basic gear reviews, shooting/hunting/fishing, wanderings, and hopefully track some weightloss.

As soon as I get my pics figured out, I'll post them.

My apologies ,I guess we dropped the ball from BCS 1 to BCS 2. A grande sets up exactly like a pyramid . The standard tent is almost identical to LBO and 3 part with just a different set back ( I think it is 9 inches if memory is correct )

No worries. There are written instructions on your main website. After the first pitch, I realized what the setback meant and figured it out. You're right I think it is 8 or 9 inches for a setback. I ended up with a bit of slack that would have easily come out had I done a repitch but I was itching to do some fishing on a rare nice, early spring day.

Mukbowhunt, you went crazy with the guy outs but I'm sure it improved the interior space. Out of curiosity where is that orange line going that you can see inside the tent?

It helped a ton. Very room inside now. I wanted to see what the max capacity was! The orange line is to the guy out on the seek outside 2p nest. Without them the back droops in; with them it makes it much more functional for two peeps to sleep in.
