Thanks Log! I completely agree regarding the color. I absolutely love the redwood brown. Even if there were multiple options to choose from, I'm almost positive this would have been the color choice no matter what.

Does anyone have the carbon pole? My carbon pole only has an end piece on one section of pole. The aluminum has 2 end caps.

It is very counter intuitive, but they are supposed to be used differently.

THe aluminum pole, the adjuster goes in the center. The carbon pole used the aluminum adjuster, but the adjuster is on the end, meaning only one end is needed on the carbon segments, because the aluminum adjuster is the other end.

I know , probably as clear as mud. We can send you a couple caps if you desire.

Does a a piece of aluminum with an end cap go on the bottom of the adjuster to contact the ground?

I think you set the stove of slightly wrong. Not a big deal but those little nut things on top are upside down. The fit into the holes so its a near flush mount. Pretty sure at least, maybe I have been doing it wrong all along.

No I definitely noticed that with all the other pictures and actually wondered about it? Mine do not fit in the holes at all. They are slightly too small so that was the end result for me. But I know exactly what you are talking about taco! Mine just are slightly different in size

The weld nuts do not go flush on an XL. We recommend and are moving to using all wing nuts, since they are easier to remove in cold or if dirt is an issue

The weld nuts look better and are flush , but wing nuts more effective. I'd be happy to ship out some wing nuts

There is some history in the why of all this , but in the end most people prefer the field use of wing nuts vs flushness of weld and since the XL had a large cooking surface not much if anything is impacted
