Whereas in 12 months time I could be saying, damn this 6 man is huge, I wish I'd bought the 4

Anyway, it's a good excuse to buy more kit

I chose the SO 6-man tipi with a large stove to accommodate me and a hunting buddy. We've had it up 3 times now and are pleased with the useable space it provides. We've set it up with the stove, two sleeping pads/bags, a small table and 2 small chairs and we still have plenty room for our packs and other gear. The stove is now broken-in; we've figured out the best pitch and are ready for a 2nd rifle season CO elk hunt in two weeks. We're using an outfitter and are going in on horseback. IMHO, the 6-man is just about the perfect tipi for two, for winter hunting/camping.

Biggs that is good to hear. I just bought a 6 man slightly used with a large stove and half liner. I am excited to use it on a Muzzleloader Elk hunt here in Oregon in a few weeks. There will be 2 of us and it should be cool enough to get some use out of the stove.

Any regrets on getting the 4 over the 6 man OP? Any pictures of your set up?

Well I pulled the trigger on a 4 man today. I figured ill always need a smaller tent for backpacking so the 4 man fit the bill. If I feel like I need to move up for truck camping I will probably get an 8 man for that.

I know you have your tent now! I want to see some pictures! How do you like the nordic tipi? I was looking at those for a long time and might get on for my truck expeditions.

I wish these forums had more regular members like Kifarus does. Ill be sticking around so hopefully it picks up in the next year or so.
