Flexipitch

Flexipitch

Postby Andy BB » Tue Jul 15, 2014 11:19 am

I'm intending to have bit of a play with my 8-man this weekend, trying various pitching configurations. I seem to remember reading some instructions in the past about flexipitching (in my case dropping the floor area from an 8-man to about 6-man), but can't seem to find them now in your instructions sections!

So - how much do I lower the pole by? Set-backs? All help appreciated:)

We don't give official instructions for it, but it is not hard. It will set up very close to 6 man size.

To use this do the following:
- Use the side guy outs as tie outs.
- Set up the tent as normally, by staking one zipper, pulling the other out / setting back and staking.
- Side set back distance is pretty much the same, about one stake length (or two times the tie out.

The distance and set backs will be very close to 6 man dimensions. Start with a zipper to zipper distance of about 13' 8 " . This will likely be a tad to small a diameter. Set the pole about 8 inches lower than you normally would.

Note, in fair weather you can also unzip each door all the way, or only one door either and pitch it partially open as well, with a lower pole height as well.

Hope this helps, it's pretty easy once you get the hang.

I love the whole idea of Flexipitch approach and its ability to adapt to the site available which can be an issue in the UK
