Standard stove pipe length?

Good evening all. First time posting on here. I am in the process of purchasing the BCS2 and medium TI stove but wasn't sure on the length of pipe I would need. Other than obstructions (tree limbs) and weight is there any reason to have a longer stove pipe? Appreciate the info.

I had a 6-1/2 foot stove pipe and when I ordered my BCS2 and I was told that a 7-1/2 foot pipe would work better (less pin hole burns in the tent).
So that is what I ordered and it works great. I have a TI 6-1/2 foot stove pipe for sale now.

Longer isn't necessarily always better, but definitely get it a couple feet above the tent peak. I use a baffle and a damper and a spark arrestor and still occassionaly see sparks. Definitely don't want those little things close to your precious tent!! Get the shim stock style stove pipe and the added weight is nearly inconsequential.
