Thanks for the complement Kevin, but I think you're giving me way too much credit. That picture was taken after a good day of dip netting. Every year Alaska residents are given 3 weeks in July to go out on the Kenai River and net Sockeye salmon as a form of subsistance fishing. You can either do it from the banks of the river (at the mouth where it dumps into the ocean),or from a boat, where you just slowly motor down river with a net in the water and scoop out the fish. For my family, a family of 4, we're allowed 55 Sockeye/year using this method. If you enjoy eating salmon, it's a really good way to fill the freezer for the long winter.
