Hunting, (first bow hunting trip planned this year), fishing, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, skiing and sharing/teaching/experiencing this with my two teenage kids.

Tracking, bushcraft, plant identification. Anything that will help me be more self sufficient and just being closer with the land.

Rooted, I wish I knew more about wild edibles. I'm pretty good at tree ID, and can spot poison ivy a mile away, but I'm limited on other small plants. Do you know any good resources?

Nathan, I just got a book called Wild Edibles. I haven't had a chance to really check it out yet but it looks pretty good. If I come across one that I really like I'll let you know.

I eat dandelions regularly while walking down the trail. They make a descent tea as well. I also have done descent with Morel mushrooms this spring. A couple days ago I had a completely hunted or gathered meal sans seasoning. Elk steak and Morels ...you could do a lot worse.

I voted mountains.
To go off and walk in the wilderness, and just be one with it, you all know.
When my wife suggests I "go out" really means I haven't talked about my last outing for a while, and it's time for an adjustment. My wife used to go, but has "moved on" and no longer shares my passion.

My passion is invested in my family. Now with grandchildren I'm focusing on time spent in the outdoors
with them. I did the same with all my kids. Can't wait till my 3 year old can cast a fly rod. I'm Blessed!
