frame size question and others

Postby mankind117 » Sat May 03, 2014 7:58 pm

I'm very interested in the evolution pack. I had two questions about it.
1. I have a 22 inch or slightly longer torso depending on when I measure(I'm 6'6" tall). What is the distance between the bottom of the hipbelt and the points where the shoulder straps attach to the frame on the evolution suspension when this is at the maximum length. I'm curious how this distance compares to a couple other packs I have that fit well.
2. Just wanted to double check that packs are returnable if they are unused. One thing about buying a pack is that you never really know how it feels until you can try it on in person.

Also I think you contact form on your website is broken as it kept insisting I needed to activate java script across 4 different browsers on 2 computers and wouldn't let me send a message.

Thanks.

I don't have an Evo setup here at the moment, however I took a quick measurement on a Unaweep with a 26 inch frame, and from center of the belt to top attachment is 20 inches. Bottom of the belt is 23 inches. Frame height changes the top, so a 28 inch frame adds 2 inches. The Unaweep and Evo should be very close or identical on same height frames. What would be considered torso would likely be a tad more than these measurements due to how the harness curves up from it's connection / anchor point. For reference, we have had several tall users not have an issue (6'5" - 6'7"). A couple wanted 6 inch extensions , or a 26 in frame with 4 inch extensions.

Yes returnable.

Send us an email to info at seekoutside dot com regarding the contact form and the computer / browser you were using.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. So are you saying that if say add the extensions on the regular 24/28 inch frame you can move the harness up a little higher when the extensions are on?
In the accessory section I see the 2 inch frame extension. Is this an extension of the base frame from 24 to 26 inches or a way to extend a 26 inch frame into a 28 inch frame? Can this only be done with the UL frame?
Finally does the Unaweep not come with any frame extensions at all or is that what the 2 inch frame extenders in the accessories is for?

The Frames are standard at 24". We change overall frame height via the extensions. So a Unaweep gets 2" extensions, the Evo gets 4". If you get an Evo and it isn't tall enough for you I can make a custom 6" set for you to try out, but I doubt it'll be needed. I'm 6'3 and my brother is 6'6" and the 28" frame is plenty tall for both of us.

There is also a bit of play in the hipbelt connection where you can gain an inch or two in torso height.
