I was out shed antler hunting. I took a quick break to grab a bite before I went in the area I thought would have some sheds. My dogs were all acting real funny so I thought there might be a bear around. I got up and started walking and had a small stone in my show so I sat down to take it out. Below me. and back about 70 yards from where I took a break I saw this. When I tried to get a good camera she ran off. On the way out , I circled back through and there she was again

Wow, cool. That's got to be kind of a rare sighting?

Yes , first time I have seen one with a kill. When I looked through my binocs you could see blood on the side of her face. It made up for my poor day on sheds. I think I was a little high as I've seen 80 elk or so the last couple days and I think they wintered there, so I know they are around ( the sheds). I think instead of going over the ridges to bed as they do in the fall, they have been going down into the brush and then feeding up as there have only been a couple people in the area besides me and I don't think any have been that high ( no tracks in any snow )
