Not a labor issue, and if you really want one we can as a one off. The main issue was two fold. As many that wanted one , there were as many that did not want one period. Our belief was that it was a better overall solution to put it outside the bag

I also have a Unaweep on order and this is news to me as well. I'm having a hard time keeping up with all of the small changes.

I'll need to think about how I am going to handle a water bladder on the Unaweep. I am not sold on having it hang off the outside of the pack. I have yet to see anyone carry their bladder this way or see a pack designed to carry it this way. Maybe this is the best solution but it seems to be thinking outside the box.

On a slightly separate note, do you have any good pictures of the top lid and how it attaches to the Unaweep pack? I'm thinking the bladder in a top lid or somehow strapped to the underside of the lid could be a solution.

Kevin, I am curious to hear what you don't like about this hydro set-up. Configuring my order so any feedback would be great.

The photos above were a 3l bladder for reference. The lid attaches to Unaweep the same as it does evo via webbing and ladder lock.

Bladder between bag and frame what I'm not a fan of ? The good is that it works , is convenient and has a good COG.
For me, the bad is that it puts the water bladder practically on your back, if the bag is real tight the bladder can almost go through the separation in top of frame encasement and bottom. Not a comfort issue since it is water, however if I'm hot and sweating it seems to make water get warm a lot faster and I like cold mountain stream water.

The base talon or talon based hydration is simple and easy, and IMO the bladder is very well protected. The only downside is COG, but I think it's important to note that COG on the paradox suspension is really good to begin with, and often Talons have the heavier items in them anyway (food , knife, electronics etc).

Bladder in the lid, seems to work if that is how you want to run it. It seems a bit "tippy" with it being the only item in there. Just my basic observation. With a few items it is probably not tippy at all.

Ernda message received and taken care of.

I apologize for many little changes. We do try to move quickly to provide the best solution to the widest group of users and to meet their needs. I feel pretty good with where our product is now and the solutions we provide. I doubt there will be many changes going forward for awhile, just little add on products potentially. The base talon hydration was one that made a lot of sense. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thanks Kevin. Saw you got my message. The frequent changes are hard to follow at times but they also show one of the best features of a smaller cottage manufacturer.
I'm thinking of having the hydration port (really only need one) just to have all the options. Thanks again.

Finally , here is in the packbag with the bladder, and out the roll top which in my opinion is the easiest and most water proof. Just give it a slightly looser roll on one side and then buckle it down.

I can shoot a quick video if anyone wants. The hang loops are in the unaweep. It is easy, simple and still pretty weather tight

Kevin, what are your thoughts of placing the hydration talon between the Evo frame and the packbag instead of placing it on the back of the packbag. This resolves the COG issue and maybe improves the water bag distortion you alluded to. I could still use a base talon for normal compression purposes.

Anyways, this configuration is a similar to how other manufacturers deal with the hydration issue -- they use a sleave between the packbag and the frame. In fact, I am considering doing this with a day talon to give me more versatility once at base camp (converts to a handy day pack).

Regarding the bladder in the lid: I once used a McHale pack that had a bladder slieve on the underside of the top pocket. This was composed of three flaps that velcroed toegether to keep the bladder stable under the top lid without taking up space inside the lid. A bladder slieve similar to the one on the hydration talon may work the same way--not sure, I'm no engineer.
