Hi- I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight or share their experience with backpacking with specifically the XL Size, or SXL Titanium stove? All of them are certainly impressively light and capable, but from what I've gathered, I think XL stove in the 8 Man Tipi might be a good option for not only longer burn time, but heating a larger area longer. The SXL seems like it might be comparable as well.

Was just hoping people could share their experience packing this stove around in their pack and if you found it to be cumbersome at all, or it felt like it took up a lot of room, or perhaps not even at all?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm just looking for the right selection for the 8 man tipi, and I will be backpacking with it more than having it carried by another means of transport.

Or at least the size/dimensions of the bag that the stove comes in fully packed, including stove pipe and all would be helpful as well. Thanks

Granted I am biased. All are not bad for backpacking. For the medium / large / SXL and XL the pipe will always be a 12 inch long cylinder. The Stoves will be about 1/3 inch deep plus by their top and bottom dimensions which for a medium is 8.25 * 10.25 rectangle, a large is 14 instead of 10.25 and SXL / XL are both 10.25 by 14.

The damper does take up some additional space, but you can remove the butterfly segment and put it over the pipe (which increases pipe length an inch approx). The pipe can be rolled tight to about a 1.5 inch diameter , but using our standard pipe rings it will be a 3.125 diameter.

The bags are a bit bigger than each stove packs down, to allow for any other accessories.
