Grand Canyon Winter Use of Stove vs Firepan

We had someone ask if our stoves could be used on winter trips in the Grand Canyon. They reasoned , it would be more efficient use of wood and lighter than any fire pan , plus provide real warmth and cooking. I did a little run down of it to see, and what I found out was yes. It is not written on their site or regulations, but they have specifically, approved our stoves on an individual basis before. You will need to get approval, and once you get approval they can waive the fire pan requirement as well. Sounds like a win for all concerning winter trips in the Grand.
