with me i think it's a question of the steps you plan to take after you get the tent. for example, if you get a GoLite SL5, then turn arouns and want to get the Large Seek Outside stove, you better have a sewing machine and some knowledge to make them compatible. i didn't take that into account. i purchased a GoLite SL3 that i wanted to use a Seek Outside stove in; why? because the SL was cheaper, and lighter than the 4-man teepee by SO. however, i didn't know about the LBO shelter; that you could get it with the stove jack already there, ready to go, etc.; is it more expensive? yes, but once i spend the 40-50 bucks on the stove jack, then send it in to get sewn in, or do it myself, i honestly might-as-well have just got the LBO and been done with it. I like my shangri-la 3. it's fine for summer, and the fly and pole are really lite, but i really wanted one-tent-to-rule-them-all, and had i done my research before hand, i would have gotten the LBO vs. GoLite.
