There's a good possibility that I'll be trying to do a thru hike of the Colorado Trail this year. I've always wanted to do a long distance hike and may have the opportunity this summer. I need to get a couple expensive pieces of gear yet so a new shelter is out of the question. I have an LBO and 3pc vest. already but it's a bit to large for this purpose. I'd like to put together a panel that would zip into the same place the 3pc is already. Essentially a 2 pc vestibule but with only an 18" kick out of the centerline. Turning it into (dare I say it) a Solomid shaped tarp. I'm hoping someone has a a 2pc that they can weigh so I can see if my efforts are even worth it. Also, does any know what size and type of zipper comes on the LBO. I'm sure I could jump into a flat tarp for about the same money and shave a lot of ounces off my shelter but I'm just not feeling it for an extended trip that's probably going to take me 4-5 weeks.
