Hi!

Is it safe to use the tipi tent (6 or 8) above the tree line ?
What is the weakest part? The pole?
Is it possible to set it up more safe for windy conditions?
Is it possible to mount/unmount it when it is windy?
(I used one BigAgnes CoppurSpur last year that we didnĀ“t thougth was safe enough when it started to get bad weather).

A tipi is the best shelter to be in in the wind. They have no flat sides. Flat sides gives the wind a perfect surface area to make it act like a sail. They can be a pain to setup in the wind by yourself but if you bringing a 6 or 8 man I would imagine that you will have help. Never had any issues with a pole but I have had stakes pull out. Make sure you bring the right stake for the right situation. If you loose a few stakes on one side you will have a giant parachute. It takes soon extremely strong winds to start pulling stakes though.
