Warming shelter

Hello,

Looking at BT-2, Cimarron and LBO - trying to stay under $400 for tent.

Use would be lightweight shelter, 4 season, for 1-2 (adding a Nest)

Hot tenting in winter for 1-2

Warming shelter in winter- scouts sleep in other tents but have access to tipi to get out of the weather now and than. Scouts have a rule about flames and tents. I am looking into if this is day shelters to, momentary use, etc. So how many adults can sit around stove?

Ability to open flap, duck in with boots on and sit down rather than crawl seems to be attractive too.

Would welcome your thoughts and experiences.

John

I'd recommend cimarron, 4 man or base tarp base and base 3 part LBO

Bt2 is probably a 3 person at best warming , cimarron probably 4 maybe 5 ... Base tarp base probably 6 or 8

I really like my BT2, but squeezing more than 2 in there with a stove would be a bit tight I would think, and that's just for sitting. Sleeping two would be really hard with a stove.

Could start with the LBO and vestibule, I think that sleeps two. Could add tarp or other base (or start with base + base).

Cimarron is interesting. Would never need it to sleep more than 2. Warming five seems ok (someone has to be outside cutting the wood!)

Man that BT-2 has beautiful pictures though. and the price helps deter fence sitting

Thanks Montana,

Received and will follow up on that. A great opportunity.
