Carbon Fiber Pole Instructions

I did not receive instructions with my tipi. Can anybody help with regards to the carbon fiber pole assembly instructions. The website doesn't cover this. I have 8 man tipi. I have quite a few different parts in a bag, as well as an aluminum extension item. There appears to be no rhyme or reason for how to assemble these parts, but I managed to put them together and they seem far too short. When I put the pole in the tipi (using set back method) it seems far to short. Can anybody advise how tall these sections are supposed to be when assembled? What is the aluminum device supposed to be used for? Is there an order to assemble? Can anybody post photos of how these random peices are supposed to assemble? (an assembled pole) I'm rather disappointed with Seek Outside over this.

Hi

It depends on which pole you have. I assume you have the current one. With the current one , you should have 5 carbon sections and one aluminum section with 8 adjustment holes.

The carbon sections are of two different diameters and one section should fit in the other. The 5 sections should be simply click locked together and should be about 7' 8" in length. For the 8 person, the aluminum adjuster goes on one end (the largest diameter carbon section. For the 8 person, the adjustment holes should be pointing towards the carbon sections which should give you an overall length of 8' to 8'6 " approximately.

For the 6 person, it is the same pole, and the adjustment holes face away from the carbon sections , resulting in a shorter configuration.

You may need to move the ned cap on the aluminum section from one end to the other , if the pole was configured with the plug on the wrong end. This is easy to do , by putting the carbon inside it and just popping it out and then placing it in the other side.

8'4 " is a good starting point for pole height, but it varies a little on ground height. I prefer having it a little taller usually

The five carbon sections are all the same diameter. The aluminum section has 10 holes and is a larger diameter such that there is significant slop when I try to put the carbon pole in it.

Do the carbon sections have connectors to connect them together ? If so, you have an older style pole, and I would recommend replacing with the newer style anyway. Contact us via our info email, and send a photo and we can get you a newer style as it is a much better pole anyway

Unfortunately this doesn't help me for next weekends trip. Which is the primary reason I bought the tipi. It appears I have a mix of parts than were not designed to go together. The aluminum section clearly doesn't belong with the five carbon poles, given the large difference in diameters. And the five carbon sections are unique to each other. One section makes no sense why it's with the others.

Six wraps of duct tape creates enough dimension to close the interference gap with the aluminum section and makes a tight interference fit. I'm going to have to roll like this for the trip and swap poles when I get back.
