I was curious how the 4-man flexi'd down would compare dimensionally to the BT-2. So I set it up by the guy-outs and took some dimensions.
Peak - 72"
Diameter - 10 feet (measured opposing stake to stake)
It was about 75F here today. The tipi was a comfortable shade shelter with the doors zipped open.
Here's a few pics, I'm 6'3".

I am so happy to have a 4 man. With shorter pole this thing can be smaller,i have to test it too.I thinking about picthing it in half and using the other half as a sun shade.Nice pictures you got there.

Another option for a shade shelter might be to lower the pole one segment, then stake out both sides a little wider than normal to keep them somewhat taught. Wouldn't be able to zip it closed, but might work well for shade. Just an idea, I'll have to give it a try.

Yes you can lower the pole a few inches and pitch it with both sides open a bit

A couple pics using the 4-man for shade. Pretty simple to unhook a stake or two in order to open up the entry as wide as needed.

Yes, tan 70d. It was an in-stock item and I bought it. Seems perfect for day trips or overnighters for two out of backpacks.
Down the road there might be a 30d BT-2 in my inventory. It would seem to be a great packable solo shelter.
Then I'll want a Divide pack to carry it in, maybe a Ti stove somewhere down the road. I think that will be the end of it for me. So much nice gear to enhance the outdoor experiences.
