I am ready to buy a Tipi. One year ago I saw 2 of your Tipi's at the Montana BHA rendezvous. Very interested, and I was told the Backcountry Shelter was the one I should have. Shortly after you came out with an updated model and called it a BCS2. I have been reading the forum and news letters plus other sources and everyone gives great reviews of your products.

Now for some reason no one is talking about the BCS2. They ask questions about the LBO, 4 man, 8 man, 12 man.
Should I look at something other then the BCS2? I back pack, and really want this Tipi for Bow Season, 4 to 7 days at a time. I'm pretty serious and need to act soon.

I solo. But I like my gear (pack and bow) inside with me. I back pack in the spring, summer, and September-October Bow hunting in Montana.

I would like to try winter camping. I have on 2 occasions winter camped, building snow caves, and shelters during survival training missions. Would like a little more comfort.

You know I don't always take a shelter in summer, just wing it. And have a good time doing that. I'm a SAR member and we have our summer camp out/training weekend the last few days of June this year. would like a Tipi for that week end, so I need to act soon.

I want to be happy with my new floor less shelter, what are your recommandions?

How many people sleeping in it is the starting point ? Honestly I'm not sure why more don't talk about the BCS2. The LBO , 6 and 8 are our most popular. However , the 12 man is getting a lot of love this spring as well, but I think for more of the horse packer or fly in types.

Needlessly to say I've slept in all of them numerous times and just prefer different ones for different uses.

Personally , the tipis when properly pitched ( which is easy ) perform remarkably in poor weather. I have a 12 man up and it's spring in the Rockies and despite its size it performs incredibly. I sort of shake my head actually. My son recently went on a spring school trip and it was the same story as last year, in that many of the tents blew away but the tipi stood fine.

Granted , the LBO performs great as does the BCS 2 and several will attest to the LBO. I know the BCS does well as well, but I'm not sure why there isn't more talk about it

My only concern would be is the BCS2 the right choice? The LBO seems smaller, and the folks that practice ultra light seem to like the LBO for weight purposes. Seems like that anyway.

I'm going to use this Tipi in Montana and Idaho hunting Elk and Mule Deer.
I hunt alone and back pack in 7 to 15 miles, depends. I usually camp for anywhere from 4 to 7 days at a time.
I'm really excited about a floorless tent with a stove, and I have chosen your BCS2 for that.

I don't have experience with Tipi's and just wanted to make the right choice the first time. I know you can't tell me which Tipi to buy, and regret asking.

You made a good choice. I got a BCS2 last fall and it's great. Very well made and the perfect size for what I need.

For what it's worth my guess is also your best choice is a BCS2. The LBO's are too small and more suited for the real UL types. tipi's tend to get to fast too large for your purpose meaning you're going to carry more weight than needed. A 4 man could be a possibility but the BCS is higher and gives more comfort for a solo hunter

That's the info I wanted, but never asked. I'm tired of always being on my knees. Plus I'm ready to try a floorless with a stove.
So thanks for answering my question (that I didn't ask). A BCS2 it will be.
