LBO questions - dimensions and other stuff

Postby rooster_c » Mon Mar 02, 2015 11:43 pm

First off, what are the dimensions of the LBO in the base-vestibule configuration? I see the square footage on the website but I'm trying to get a sense for just how this thing would work for me.

Second, in most of the pictures I see of the LBO with a stove jack on the vestibule, the stove jack is really close to the fabric beak coming over the vestibule from the base. In some pictures, the beak looks like it's pretty much hanging over the stove jack. I don't have a ton of experience with stoves in tents, but I was wondering if this is a potential issue.

It is a balancing act with the beak vs stove jack. There is some space, and it is not an issue. If it was moved lower , then it becomes not really tall enough inside for a stove.

Dimensions , 8 wide , by 9 long in center. Rear extension adds a foot in the center making center to center approx 10 ft.

Thanks for the helpful reply. Looking at this and a few other mid/tipi options, including the BT-2 on the small end and the Cimarron on the larger end. I'm concerned that with a large tent I'll have trouble finding good campsites. I'd be curious to know if this is ever an issue for owners of the LBO and other shelters in the 8x8 and larger range.

With the LBO in stove mode, with the pipe coming out of the vestibule, how would you guy out the beak?

For the base-tarp-base, why are the dimensions under the tarp? Are there tie-out loops on the tarp so that it can be use by itself? Are there any mid-panel timeouts for extra support? What size of a nest can you fit in it?

Tarp pitched is just shy of 5 by 8 with LBO. Yes it can be used on its own, pitched shorter you will have larger footprint . Mid panel guy outs on tarp

Thanks! If the tarp was laid out flat in the ground, what would the dimensions be?

What are the dimensions of the 3-piece vestibule if laid flat? I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a base + 3-piece in the next month or two, and was wondering if the vestibule is large enough to use as a bivy tarp for mid summer solo scouting trips when rain isn't likely. I was thinking I could get you guys to sew a couple extra guy-out loops at the top and upper sides of the vestibule for solo use, or use some clamps I've seen online. The LBO's huge selling point is it's versatility, and this would make it even more versatile.
