Looking at options for a CF pole for the Silvertip. I want some adjustability.

Can the Cimmaron CF pole be adjusted below 64" by removing segment or flipping the adjuster, or both?

This is the pole I'm looking at:

Thanks, Shane

How high do you want it ? A longish trekking pole will work ,or with a pole jack . The Cimarron pole won't work well at the moment to give ample adjustment . What we need is a longer adjuster and one less carbon segment and it will work fine

I was thinking around 57" or so on the short length, and maybe up to 67-68" or so on the long side, to facilitate a well ventilated pitch, and allow a bit of offset on the pole to open up the center space a bit.

I do have some decent trekking poles, maybe an extender is a good option for now, for the height and adjustability.

The CF pole for the 6-man works fine with the center pieces removed, but that probably adds unnecessary 6 oz or so. Very solid though.

Thanks, Shane

Ruta Locura sells semi-custom CF tent poles. Their .660 tent pole can be had in the 50-62" length and with an 8" adjustment section you can choose your setup. Order the 58" and you can adjust up form 58-66". Seems like that would hit the dimensions you're looking for.

Its a 4 piece pole and with the adjuster it would only be 5.5 oz!!

Thanks for the info on Ruta Locura.

I actually got a pole from BPWD a couple months ago. it's a .740" diameter Easton aluminum pole, with a carbon fiber adjuster. It goes 57-64"
