View from fish camp (Vancouver Island)

I'm jealous of that kind of fishing. We packed in in Juan de Fuca last year as a family. Terrific island. That place at the end of the road is my kind of place I think it was Renfrew or something like that.

My favorite fishing is the alpine lakes I'm just waiting for the bookies and cuts to get a little meat on them

Fishing (fly fishing) was my life for many years. Back in the '80's, right out of high school, I spent about 4 years traveling around the lower 48 just fishing and working odd jobs. I was lucky enough to be able to fish from Maine to Florida/Alaska to California and just about everywhere in between. Spent 3 weeks in Mexico fishing for bill fish with a fly rod and 5 weeks in South America, down to Tierra Del Fuego, trout fishing. I moved to Alaska in. '92 because trout fishing was what I enjoyed most, and Alaska had the biggest rainbow's that I had ever seen. I've been here ever since chasing bows and Steelhead. Here's a couple photos from way back. The first is a cutthroat on Rock Creek in Montana circa 1988, and the second is a rainbow in November on the Kenai in Alaska in 1993.

Really nice fish Troutbum. I used to fish the Clinch below Norris Dam in east TN for trout while in college and got a couple nice 20+" rainbows, but the norm is stocker to 18". I miss trout fishing. Here it's mostly river fishing for bass, panfish, catfish, etc. Still fun, but trout are tasty!

Yeah friends the Vancouver Island is best fishing point. With a huge variety of freshwater and salt-water fish and so many stellar settings to choose from, you really can catch the big one in the Vancouver Island region! As well as this is a dream land for all fishermen to catch the multiple types of fish.
