I mounted this deer for a buddy last winter. Hell of a deer for his first ever kill.

Can I play (and resurrect this thread)?

These three were all season before last. Posted in order of season.

Those don't look too "little". The one in the middle is a toad; 250#?

I'm terrible at trying to guess weight on the hoof, but I'm pretty sure the one in the middle went over 200 pounds. Our Sitka Blacktail deer can be pretty decent body sized animals but their antlers don't even compare to some of those bruiser whitetail and muley bucks in the previous pictures.

Our last deer of the season. We got this on Kodiak, in mid December, to finish up our hunting season.

Camp just wouldn't be complete without some fresh Blacktail tenderloins on the stove.:)

I was skunked this season (2014) here in Washington. These blacktails are a whole different type of ghost to hunt. They are very frustrating, especially with our dense forests, but that's what makes it fun.

Here are some friends and I near Bond, CO last season. This was after a week of Pheasant Hunting outside of Dickinson, ND. We made a big round trip driving from WA, to ND, to CO, and back. Best 2 weeks of vacation a guy could ask for!

I know this is Deer Specific, but here are some Roosters anyway

Troutbum,
Love the pics, especially the tinfoil dinner. I cook much the same on my stove. Makes cleanup a snap! I take some of that pre-cooked bacon and some thick sliced ham. I make some egg-omelets in zip locks ahead of time and just throw them on the tinfoil after the meat gets warm. Best dinners ever (even better with fresh backstraps), especially the easy cleanup!!!
