Do any of you do tenkara ? I recently started and it has been a lot of fun. Tenkara itself is very simple and IMO elegant. It is a bit different since there are a lot of limitations similar to trad archery and you have to learn to work within the limitations , however over the last few days the tenkara set up has been catching more trout than the spinning rod.

Nice fish.... I've never had a chance to try tenkara, love the idea of the simple tackle. Heck I'm not even sure the term tackle applies to tenkara!

I bought a used rod, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Will be getting out the next couple weekends and looking forward to it!!

Good luck, I've been enjoying it a lot and catching a pretty descent amount of trout as well. Nothing giant, but I like to fish the alpine areas anyway because IMO they eat better. Mostly cutthroats
9 to 12 inches.

I've been thinking about Tenkara. What length rod did you get?

12 ft . I've been using a 12 ft line, 4 ft tippet and a generic wet fly. I've been catching a lot of trout

It's been mostly cutthroats upper rio grande alpine lakes type of stuff. Some success on a reservoir with a kayak. I'm going to try a larger river with bigger trout in the next few days

I guess I'll have to try it. I live in Arizona and fish a lot of small mountain creeks. Casting in most
Cases is non existent. Thanks for the info.

Tenkara is good for that, you can bow cast the brushy stuff
