What small and inexpensive pieces of kit does everyone like?
I'll start with a Havalon Piranta. It's a good deal at 30-$35, and really handy.
I'll also put the Mora in. It's a heck of a camp knife for $10-15.

I've been looking for a small backpacking grill for cooking over a wood fire for a while now, and the options I had looked at were the Purcell Trench Grill Streamside Packer at about 4.6 oz and $60, then the Zia grill which is a UL Titanium and again $60+.
A few days ago I found the Lawson Equipment stainless steel grill which weighs 7.4 oz and cost $20. It shipped same day and arrived in no time. It's good quality and I look forward to playing around with it.
Honestly I would rather have a lighter option, but this isn't something I'll take every trip, so the low price is the reason I got this one.

I like the Swedish Fire Knife. THe Havalon is great as well, but scary sharp. I really like the Sawyer filters as well.

The Havalon is definitely scary. After I butchered my index finger along with my bull last year I did a lot of thinking. I am taking a cut proof Kevlar glove for my off hand this year. It cost about $8 and weighs a couple oz. I think it'll speed up boning because I can cut and not worry as much about my fingers.

The Havalon works well for me, another light weight piece is a simple tin foil wind screen for my cooking stove.

I really lime my Swedish fireknife as well to compliment my havalon. The sawyer mini is another good one.

Just bought a LED flashlight. The Photon lights I bought years ago quit after 18 years
