I have, use, and highly recommend the Goal Zero Nomad 7 solar charger. You open it, and tie it to the back of your pack, and it charges during your hike, or once you are camped. The Nomad 7 is a single solar panel that charges 4 rechargeable AA batteries, in a little pack. this pack has a USB charge port attached to it, so it's easy to charge any device that can plug into a USB device. it also comes with an adapter to be able to charge AAA batteries. all you need to add is the four rechargeable AAA batteries. so you can then use the AA or AAA batteries in your flashlights, radios etc. the nomad 7 also has a regular 12 volt car cigarette lighter style plug. and you can also plug in devices directly into the USB attached to the solar panel. the last feature it has is a built in LED bulb flashlight.
I love and trust the Goal Zero Nomad 7 solar charger so much that I have two of them !
I also have 3 large tri-fold soft solar panels that put out enough power to support a small off grid home with ease (This is used for my 648 sq. ft. MGPT Modular med Size tent, with Yukon Stove)
