Float Trip

I'm blessed to have grown up next to the Duck River.
Today myself, my wife, and my sister in law did a 5 hour float down the Duck.
We saw a huge banded water snake eating a live fish, and played hide and seek with an adult and a juvenile Bald Eagle. We would float close, they would take off downriver, repeat. It went on for hours and was really neat.
Ten years ago there were no eagles here. Even now they are viewed as something transient, something rare and special. I for one hope they stay.
92 degrees but with only 45% humidity, a light breeze, and good cloud cover, it was pleasant.
Overall a great day spent in the outdoors.
