SPOT is now offering a sat phone. Anyone know how well it works?

I've got a spot with the Delorme gps so I can choose up to 14 messages to send out. It works well. I imagine the sat phone will work ok too, but that's a different animal.

There were some interesting items I saw recently. One was a a new PLB with no monthly charges and another could provide sat based internet access anywhere which did have a monthly fee. I'll elaborate more at another time.
