Summertime Stove and cooking

What is your summertime stove solution ? What do you like or dislike ? I have been using a small alcohol stove, but it is not fuel efficient for much usage. It is fine, for short / solo stuff, but with groups I feel you need more.

I enjoy my ti tri with inferno option. Small, weighs a few ounces but gives me flexibility. I'm into fishing high alpine lakes while out scouting for hunting season. That stove allows me to cook fish or my usual FBC. If I take a new hiker out and about then I may opt for my Optimus crux lite just to speed things up for more people. I have to admit though I'm a gear junkie and own many stoves.....The only one I have left to experiment with is a simmer ring I purchased over winter to try some backcountry baking.

I use a pop can alky stove and like to use a small stainless grill I got from Lawson Equipment for cooking over fire.

I use a MSR Whisper Lite and I always pack the Whisper Lite with me. If I stay in one camp for more then one night I will cook over a fire. When I say cook I mean boil water and fry fish if the fish gods are nice. I have a small little grill that I pack for the fire and coals cooking. I don't remember where I picked the little grill up it was years ago. Still packing it around.

Depends on mood, who are joining me and how we are going (i.e. car camping, day hike or trekking)

Typical choices are:
-small gas canister screw on gas stove (developed a system to refill half-used small 110 grams canisters form larger canisters, ofcourse oncr really empty throw them away because valves might be getting bad). gas stove a MSR pocket rocket and now a newer EOE Lithium
-A small paintcan sized woodburner called Bushcooker combined with an Trangia alcohol stove (the Trangia cup fits nicely in the woodburner which then acts as a windscreen) No wood available then burn on alcohol, if wood is availabe burn on wood.
-Optimus Nova multi-fuel burner.
-Snow Peak Pack and Carry fire pit with BBQ accesoires

Woodstoves defintely stay at home during summer

I don't have it yet but am taking a hard look at the Qiwiz Firefly XL to go with the alcohol stove. Should do everything needed weigh less then most other options (short of straight firepit). Otherwise, good old MSR is hard to beat.

I typically will take my JetBoil year round. It's hard to beat the quick boil and small amount of gas used. Swapping out the mountain house containers for freezer gallon bags helps with packing as well. I can't wait to give my upcoming bcs2/TI stove a shot later this fall/winter. Who knows, my JetBoil might become summertime only use
