I have an older Evolution frame and 4800ci bag that is in the mail to me (purchased second hand), and I had a couple of questions about using this frame with the current Revolution packs.

1) My pack has the older Talon without the over-the-top strap. If I upgrade to a Day Talon, can I use the over-the-top strap, or will my frame/panel not have the necessary mounting point?
2) I'm particularly interested in adding a Peregrine. Will the Peregrine mount correctly to the Evo pack, or for best usage, do I need to upgrade to the Revo?
3) Is a coupon code still available for Evo->Revo upgrades, and if so, is that available to second hand buyers?

In all my reading on the Seek Outside/Paradox packs, one thing that I had no luck finding was information on how the main pack bag attaches to the Evo/Revo frame. Could someone please post a picture showing the attachment points on the bag and frame?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Evo/Revo bags have a ladder lock sewn on the lower sides of the bag through which webbing, attached to the lower sides of the frame, weave through. Those ladder locks allow the bottom of the pack to be cinched against the frame or extended away to expose the load shelf.

Bags also have two pairs of webbing sewn to the upper sides of the bag. Only one pair is used, depending on the height of the frame. The webbing goes through a tri-glide attached to the upper frame encasement (it's this encasement that moves up with the addition of frame extensions) and then buckles are attached to the loose ends of the webbing and allow the two ends to be joined together and tightened to draw the bag against the frame or loosened to allow the bag to fall away from the frame. Is there enough webbing length for the buckles to remain connected when the bag is fully-extended from the frame?

Beyond providing a place for a spare set of buckles and a grab handle, what is the reason for using the tri-glides and buckles for the upper bag attachment vs ladder locks for the lower bag attachment? Would ladder locks have been prone to slipping with the increased tension/leverage that I think exists on the upper bag webbing when there is a heavy load?

If the above is accurate for the Evo frame, is it also the same for the Revo frame? The bottom frame webbing and upper tri-glides should be roughly the same distance apart as the bag's ladder locks and upper webbing, but I can see how some variability can still work. Kevin, is this variability what you're referring to when you say that some of the Evo/Revo packs may interchange on frames, but not necessarily fit/work as well as on their proper respective frames?

Furthermore, did the distance between the harness locks on the upper encasement and the harness mounts behind the back padding increase in Revo compared to the Evo for a given frame height? Is this the reason why it's been mentioned that the webbing on an Evo harnesses may need lengthening to work on a Revo panel?

Sorry if these questions seem nit-picky. I'm not trying to be critical --- I'm just really is interested in how the pack works and trying to understand the implications of my purchase of the Evo frame vs the upgraded Revo frame.

You are correct on how bags attach . You are correct on why the revo harness may need longer webbing ( accommodates shorter torso sizes ) . You are correct on why bags from Evo and revo are basically interchangeable but Evo bags on revo suspecions will have mixed results based on frame height . Webbing top connection of ladder lock vs tri glide ... really mostly about minimal profile at the top

I've been having lower back problems with my current lumbar pad packs, so I'm hoping the one-piece belt will offer me some relief. But what's really interested me about the Seek Outside packs is the near water-proofness of the XPac fabric. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so always hike/hunt with the expectation of getting wet. It's a selling point to me that I won't have to worry about my pack getting soaked through or having to use a cover or garbage bags in the interior --- just a much cleaner solution to have the pack itself protected from water.

I wanted to follow up my original post with some pictures of the Evolution frame and Peregrine pack. I'm extremely happy with my first impressions of both the frame and pack. I've only hauled loads up to 60 lbs around the block, but the pack felt great.

My Evolution was ordered with a 22" frame and came with 2" and 6" extensions. When I ordered the Peregrine, I also picked up some 4" extensions, so I can run the frame at 22", 24", 26", and 28". So far I've only mounted the Peregrine on the 28" frame, but I'll be doing some setups with the other frame heights. My plan is to use the Peregrine as my primary day pack next season, so I have a bit of time to get it dialed in.

The Pegerine is in the V42 Expedition Olive XPac, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much Iiked the colour --- it's quite subdued and pleasing to my eye. Stitching and quality are top-rate.

Without saying much more, here are a series of pictures showing some details of the Expedition/Peregrine and how I mounted it. Kevin, if you see this, can you let me know if I've got it attached correctly? The lower pair of top straps came with buckles --- are those buckles intended to be used to secure the top strap after it's trun through the frame's top tri-glides. With the 28" frame, the top straps weren't long enough to reach around the frame, so I secured them by going back through the tri-glide and left the extra buckles unused.

Sorry, I forgot to get a weight on the bag/pack separately, but I'll follow up with that information. The side-by-side size comparison is against a Kifaru Tahr.

Bottom is attached correctly. Top connection works, but really isnt what we intended. We intended for the webbing near the top of the peregrine to go through the loop / triglide on the top. However, since you are using an Evo ..it won't really line up that way. Glad you like it
