Evolution PALS and belt pouches

I received my Evolution frame and base talon hydration last week. I have not ordered a packbag yet since the base talon hydration is big enough for most of my day hunting needs. To supplement the base talon, I ordered 2 small belt pouches and a meat baggie from Kifaru. I use the meat baggie as a dry bag (although not waterproof, highly water resistant) to hold my extra clothes sandwiched between the talon and frame. The belt pouches are big enough to hold my calls, GPS, headlamp, and a couple other small incidentals. The only problem I've found with this system is that the PALS webbing is not quite long enough to accommodate the small belt pouches. The pouches don't sit quite as flat to the belt as I would like, instead bulging out an additional half inch to inch in the middle. It's not a big deal, the pouch is still functional, but flops a little more than I would like. Anyone using any other brands of belt pouches that work well?

Otherwise, I think the frame and talon work really well together. I loaded 50 lbs of sand on the frame and carried it around the house for a half hour and it seemed to carry extremely well. Looking forward to getting it out this weekend for a longer hike.

Two questions

What size belt? Small belts have some Pals but not a lot and its a real estate problem.

Otherwise it should be fine. If you could send a pic by email it might help.

It's a large belt. The pouches connect via three bar sliders at each corner, so the connection points are pretty far apart (about 8 inches). I found pouches from Maxpedition that connect via tac ties that I'm going to try. I'll post up some photos of each kind of pouch once I get them. I decide which ones I like and then send back the other.

The zimmerbuilt hipbelt pockets work really well. Big enough but not too big.
