I'm sitting here in Aus thinking how jealous I am of y'all. Osprey are just about the only packs sold here...
I've been researching packs for a trip I'm about to make, and my #1 requirement is an external frame pack. I'm sitting on the fence between the Ti-Arc CF and a Unaweep 4800.
Can you please help me with a few questions I have about the Unaweep?
1) How does it handle being checked in as airplane luggage? Is it best to pack it in a suitcase etc? I'm afraid of some careless person smashing it.
2) The Ti-Arc will take a Therm-a-rest Ridgerest Solar , tied to the empty spot under the pack. Would the Unaweep take one of these internally AND leave room for real stuff? Or are they simply too bulky?
3) Durability. I read somewhere the Cuban on the Ti will only last ~2000 miles. I'm hoping to get something that lasts 10 years! (my hiking is gentle. Marked paths only). How does the U's durability compare?
4) As I need it shipped to Aus, it's important I order the correct sizing. Any tips on how not to stuff this up?
